To send the OS syx file, use our free Elektron Transfer software. Transfer can be downloaded from the Elektron website.
Connect the Elektron device to the computer via USB and switch it on.
Open the Transfer application on your computer.
On the Transfer CONNECTION page, set the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports to your Elektron device.
On the Transfer DROP page, drag and drop the OS file. The OS file is then automatically transferred to the Elektron device and the OS update initiates. A progress bar is visible on device screen when receiving the OS.
On your device. Press [YES] to confirm the OS update.
If your current device OS does not fully support Transfer, you will be automatically directed to Transfer's LEGACY OS UPGRADE page after you drag and drop the OS file on the Transfer DROP page. Follow the instructions on the LEGACY OS UPGRADE page to proceed with the OS upgrade.
When the update is done the unit will restart by itself.
Connect the Elektron device to the computer via the device's MIDI port. (You cannot use the USB port).
Hold down the [FUNC] button while powering on the Elektron device. This takes you to the STARTUP menu.
Press the [TRIG 4] key to enter OS UPGRADE mode.
Open the Transfer application on your computer.
On the Transfer CONNECTION page, click "LEGACY OS UPGRADE mode"
On the Transfer LEGACY OS UPGRADE mode page browse to, and select, the downloaded OS syx file.
Select your MIDI interface.
In Transfer, press "UPGRADE".
A progress bar is visible on device screen when receiving the OS.
When the update is done the unit will restart by itself.
After some upgrades the bootstrap is also upgraded. This upgrade is performed right after the first restart of the device. Do not turn the power off during the upgrade.
Downgrading the device OS is not supported, and is performed at your own risk. User content may be lost.

The TRK1 LEVEL parameter on the INTERNAL MIXER page was less responsive than for TRK2-4.
Fixed a number of issues related to settings made in the GLOBAL FX/MIX menu.
The effects were not active after startup/reboot.
Changing mute states from Overbridge plugin resulted in unexpected behavior.
It was not possible to copy the parameter settings from one LFO page to another.
It was not possible to copy or paste the INTERNAL MIXER pages parameter settings from one pattern to another.
When the Chorus page was open, it was not possible to close it by pressing SYN2.
Minor fixes to errors in the screen UI graphics.
Implemented an intensity setting for the LEDs and OLED screen. The option is located in the SYSTEM menu.
Added a GLOBAL FX/MIX menu item in the SETTINGS menu. In the GLOBAL FX/MIX menu, you have the option to set the parameters on the INTERNAL MIXER, EXTERNAL MIXER, CHORUS, DELAY, and REVERB pages, and also the OVERDRIVE parameter, to be global (making any change to these parameters affect all patterns in the project and not only the active pattern).
Added a filter envelope delay parameter.
Adding a full dual mono mode for the external inputs, allowing separate effects sends on each channel.
Rearranged the parameters on the LFO PARAMETER pages to harmonize with Digitakt. Now all parameters for LFO 1 are on Page 1, and all parameters for LFO 2 are on page 2. The graphics for the WAVE and PHAS parameters are also improved.
Added an option for the device to remember which of a PARAMETER page's subpage you last used and access this page again next time you press the same [PARAMETER] key.
The LFO Fade envelope now resets also in FREE mode when LFO.T is set to ON.
FILTER MODE set to OFF is now illustrated with a dotted line in the UI.
Improved graphics for bipolar parameters.
Audio and sync could in some cases drop out when the device was used together with Overbridge.
Parameter values could wrap around when quickly turning a pushed down encoder.
Filter keytrack settings could sometimes erroneously get carried over from the previously used project.
Added Overbridge support for macOS Big Sur.
The first trig in the pattern was sometimes not triggered when controlling the Elektron device with an external MIDI clock, and MIDI transport was started.
Only the start of the chain was visible on screen when creating a new pattern chain.
Portamento could, under some circumstances, be present on voices last used on another track when picked up by the current track.
Notes could sometimes hang when controlling the device via Overbridge and using layered tracks.
Some special characters were not shown when used in a pattern name.
SysEx dumps could become corrupted when sent to certain computer software.
[Digitone Keys] The device could crash when repeatedly modifying notes with the keyboard while the sequencer was playing.

In LIVE RECORDING MODE, adding long sustained notes on top of previously entered trigs did not work correctly.
High-resolution parameters changed too rapidly when the encoder was pressed and turned.
[Digitone Keys] The chorus parameters were wrongly labeled DEL in USER ASSIGN menu.
Trig length was not recorded when using an external MIDI controller sending data on the track channels in LIVE RECORDING mode.
Trig conditions did not work as expected when using pattern chains.
The active pattern page was reset to 1:4 when changing tracks.
The Digitone/Digitone Keys now supports class compliant audio over USB.

Certain combinations of SCALE settings on the MIDI tracks could sometimes lead to that the first step of a pattern being played once more when changing patterns.
Trig Conditions did not function correctly under some circumstances when using SCALE PER TRACK.
The first slot in every modulation settings could disappear after rebooting the device.
Sound locks affected the display of the parameters on the FX pages even though these parameters are not part of a Sound.
For various reasons, notes could sometimes hang.
When using the TRACK NOTE method in GRID RECORDING mode, trigs could in some cases get added to the wrong track.
Decreased encoder sensitivity for some parameters to make it easier to select specific parameter values.
An arpeggiated Sound played manually had its arpeggio interrupted when the sequencer played a note trig on the same track.
The sequencer started after preroll, even if it was paused before the end of the preroll.
The dotted values for the delays TIME parameter were displayed incorrectly.
Character selection using the LEVEL/DATA knob in the pop-up naming window did not behave correctly.
Pressing and holding FUNC, and then turning the knob for the DELAY TIME parameter now makes the parameter snap to on-beat values.
The sequencer could be out of sync when using scale per track if the previously set scale per pattern value was not 1x.
The reload function of the FX parameter pages did not work correctly, even though the RELOAD PAGE message appeared.
The revert CONTROL ALL function only reverted the active page.
Parameters could get inverted when modulated with pitch bend at -64.
Pressing [FUNC] + [UP]/[DOWN] to set the TRACK LENGTH in increments of 16 in the SCALE Menu did not work.
Trigs with PRE and NOT PRE conditions did not trigger correctly the first time a pattern played.
In some cases, it was possible to place trigs outside the range of the current track.
When changing between patterns that had different AUDIO ROUTING settings, the new pattern inherited the routing of the previous pattern instead of loading its own settings.
It was not possible to clear TRACK LEVEL, MIX LEVEL, or PATTERN VOUME by pressing ENCODER + [NO].
It was not possible to randomize or reload FX pages on MIDI tracks.
A fixed (non-synced) BPM MULT setting on one LFO could, in some circumstances, affect the tempo of other LFOs.
Aftertouch modulation cut off Pitch bend modulation when an external MIDI controller was used to interact with Overbridge over USB MIDI.
All settings and empty patterns in the factory project were not cleared when performing a factory reset.
When receiving external MIDI notes in LIVE RECORDING mode, only the first played note's velocity in a chord was recorded. The following notes instead got the default velocity parameter value.
Parameter locking LFO values for MIDI tracks had no effect.
The device did not listen to the MIDI CC All Notes Off.
Implemented master tune functionality.
Added scale per track functionality to the sequencer.
Added ratio offsets for each of the four operators.
It is now possible to live record sound slots when in MULTI MAP mode.

The device could in some cases freeze when you were in the Pitch- and Mod wheel setup menus and then selected a MIDI track.
[NO] + [T1-4] both reloaded the Sound and erased trigs in LIVE RECORDING mode. Now, [NO] + [T1-4] only erases trigs. Reload Sound is not possible in LIVE RECORDING mode. Additionally, the Reload Sound shortcut is changed to [T1-4] + [NO].
The Bank selection was still active after timeout if a [TRIG 1-8] key was pressed during the timeout process.
Using Overbridge, it was no longer possible to do a temp save/load using [FUNC] + [YES]/[NO] after a DAW project with Total Recall activated had been loaded, and the DAW state have been synced with the unit. The temp save/load commands would then return Save Error or Load Error.
[NO] + [T1-4]/[TRIG] did not clear trigs on MIDI tracks in LIVE RECORDING mode.
The key combination [FUNC] + [HOLD] to enable portamento did not work.
The arpeggiator did not play notes in the correct order in Cycle and Down modes.
The Pitch bend did not always return to a 0 value after moving the wheel.
The [FUNC] key's state remained as "pressed" if [FUNC] + key opened a dialog box window, even after the dialog box was closed.

Pattern Volume could not be set using MIDI CC.
Controlling the VAL1-8 parameters on a MIDI track using an external controller did not work.
A Quick Pattern Mute operation initiated a pattern select timeout.
In rare cases, unison indicated as active on a MIDI track.
Sometimes, in MUTE mode a high amount of trigs playing in the sequencer caused the colors to get stuck.
Master page parameters sent conflicting CC's.
A Sound on a track could sometimes change and sound different after a Sound have been played on another track.
Under some circumstances, pressing [RECORD], [PLAY], or [STOP] resulted in COPY, CLEAR or PASTE Track Sound.
Loading a Sound that contained Velocity modulation could cause odd modulation behavior.
The names of the LFO destination Pitch A and B2 was incorrectly named Pitch 2 and 4.
MIDI Bank Select sent from the MIDI tracks output the message in the wrong format. An additional SBNK parameter is now added to the SYN1 page on the MIDI tracks.
Setting pitch bend depth to high values, and then using the pitch wheel, could offset the pitch.
The sequencer switched to new pattern when aborting pattern paste/clear.
The MUTE mode could under some circumstances be deactivated when pressing [BANK] or [PTN].
The sequencer started after preroll, even it was stopped before the end of the preroll.
Control All function did not work on the TRACK LEVEL parameter.
Changing PARAMETER page did not always close the open menu.
LFO data on a MIDI track was continuously sent out even after double stop.
CC values were sent even if the value was disabled ([FUNC] + DATA ENTRY knob) if an LFO was assigned to the CC value.
MIDI sequencer CCs were sent on parameter locked trigs, even if they were disabled.
On some units, certain menus would flicker on the screen. This would be clearly visible when pressing the [YES] key while the LFO page was active.
Overbridge support added.
Increased the number of LFO speed snap values.
Adjusted size of icons in the Settings menu.
It is now possible to perform copy, paste and clear operations on the MIDI parameter pages.
When externally synced, the tempo was sometimes indicated as "X.-Y". For example, 85.-2.
The TRACK keys flashed trigs from the audio tracks even in MIDI mode.
In the display, lists such as the modulation destination list or the sample select list were flickering when turning multiple encoders.
In the Scale menu, MIDI tracks were not named correctly.
Sound locks were not moved when trigs were moved with FUNC+LEFT/RIGHT.
The Digitone could under some circumstances freeze during live recording.
FX CONTROL CH in the MIDI channels settings was only used for output of FX parameter changes. Digitone now handles FX parameters CCs only on the set FX control channel.
Voice stealing mode LOW and HIGH did not work correctly together with unison.
MIDI tracks MIDI channels set to channel 10-16 were changed to default MIDI channels when a project was reloaded.
After a pattern had played one loop, it was no longer possible to undo the track clear command.
Releasing the SYN1, SYN2, FLTR, AMP key after a clear command made it impossible to undo the clear command.
Parameter locks copied (and then pasted) with the Copy Track/Page command were not restored after the pattern was reloaded.
The sequencer switched to the new pattern when the user aborted the pattern paste/clear operation.
Show tag selector when exporting a sound.
Added Sysex dump menu.
Adjusted text input screen so that the input field is not hidden by the character matrix.
Added 'insert char' functionality to name editor using FUNC+YES.

Device would unintentionally respond to CC93 (Solo) MIDI messages.
The function to copy, clear and paste one or several patterns at the same time without leaving the active pattern did not work.
Pattern change occurred one pattern length to late after receiving a Program Change message from other Elektron device.
Add Notes feature removed note trigs on other tracks than the active track.
The parameter settings on the VOICE menu were not applied correctly on the first trig of the new pattern after changing patterns.
The MIDI tracks did not react to MIDI messages received on the track's set MIDI channel.
Added possibility to change the keyboard octave while the sound browser is open, using NOTE+UP/DOWN.
Incoming MIDI notes (sent on the Digitone auto channel) are filtered so that notes outside the selected scale are discarded.
Help text is hidden when pattern transpose is changed, so that the new value is visible.
Pattern transpose was not applied until sequencer was restarted.
AENR parameter was difficult to dial.
Unit could, under some circumstances, crash when sequencing arpeggiated sounds on multiple tracks.
Manually triggered (not by the sequencer) arpeggios would not play correctly on muted tracks.
Pattern selection LEDs 1,2,9, and 10 would sometimes not have the correct state.
Changing track while playing on the Digitone auto channel could result in hangning notes.
MIDI sequencer would crash under certain circumstances.
