DSP Engineer

Gothenburg, Sweden (please note this is an on-site-only role)

Elektron is looking for a skilled DSP Engineer to join our team working on a cutting-edge software platform that will drive the next generation of our instruments.  In this role you will design, model, and together with your team implement the core digital signal processing functionality for sound synthesis and effects. Your work will lay the foundation for the rewarding and innovative Elektron instruments that are yet to come.

Key qualifications

  • MSc or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Ability to prototype your ideas in environments such as MATLAB, Max/MSP, Faust or similar
  • Strong audio signal processing background
  • Experience of creating digital models from electronic circuitry and/or physical instruments
  • Very good experience within C/C++, and preferably audio frameworks such as JUCE
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Two years of industry experience working as a DSP Engineer

Preferred qualifications

  • Music industry experience, as a musician and user
  • Skills in performance analysis, covering aspects such as robustness, frequency/impulse response etc.
  • Experience of plugin- or iOS audio development in C/C++
  • Skills in optimization, both on algorithmic level as well as on machine-level (ARM, cache, intrinsics etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of synthesis sound design and inner workings of electronic musical instruments
  • Passionate about music, sound and with attention to details
  • Experience working with Linux environments
